Fantastic and helpful service here - with some impressive investigation work they were able to use past orders (without an account) to locate the paint I'd previously purchased and reproduce it for me. They went above and beyond. Thank you!

I had a really wonderful experience recently at Janovic Paint & Decorating Center Upper West Side on West 72nd Street. I’m beginning the process of refreshing my apartment and, as someone who’s not a very experienced painter, I walked in needing quite a bit of guidance.

A terrific representative named Shaina was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and generous with her time. She helped me think through paint choices, finishes, and all sorts of useful materials and supplies that I wouldn’t have known to ask about on my own. I never felt rushed or talked down to — just genuinely helped.

This store has clearly been part of the fabric of the Upper West Side for a long time, and you can feel that history and neighborhood character when you walk in. It’s wonderful to still have places like this in New York: knowledgeable people, real customer service, and a sense of continuity with the community.

I don’t know how this place doesn’t have five stars. I’ve been here several times, and every visit I’ve received patient, attentive, and knowledgeable help from Chris, the assistant manager. I had no idea what I was doing or which colors I wanted, and Chris expertly guided me—patiently and thoughtfully—toward the perfect shades that are now on my walls. I absolutely love them and never would have found them without Chris’s help. The other employees are also consistently friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

I went in there, needing some clearcoat for my deck in Manhattan. A very rare occurrence and very few places have anything for it. This place doesn’t have anything, but Janovic does at their locations out of Manhattan. The manager Joe was thoughtful enough to order what I needed from another store even though He doesn’t carry it regularly. As it turns out I ordered the wrong Product. It was no problem. Joe took it back. I didn’t have to pay a dime. Highly recommend this place. Thank you, joe

Excellent service

The Hunter-Douglas design studio upstairs is great. They safely installed our shades mid-pandemic, followed up a minor glitch quickly, and today Michael honored a warranty question without hesitation. Did I mention the shades look great?
